Course objective: Production of iron arrowheads.Course content: The basics of forging, different types of arrowheads, and historical backgrounds will be taught. Afterwards, each participant will forge their own arrowheads. Different shapes can be produced (with socket, with tang, various blade variants).Historical background: In the Younger Paleolithic, the arrowheads of the first archers were still made of stone. With advancing technical development, the material iron has been available in our latitudes since approx. 800 BC, which allowed the production of various arrowhead shapes. The arrows of the nomadic peoples of the Migration Period and the Early Middle Ages were particularly feared.Course instructor: Lukas J.
