"Forging Knives" - Workshop

What's it about?

Workshop: Knife forging Course objective: Production of a knife blade from steel.Course content: The basics of forging, different types of knives and historical backgrounds will be taught. Afterwards, each participant will forge their personal knife blade, which will be hardened after shaping. If the handle is to be wrapped with leather, material will be provided.Historical background: Since the Iron Age (approx. 800 BC), the blacksmiths of the Hallstatt period mastered the technique of iron extraction and processing. The Celts (from approx. 450 BC) were known for 'Ferrum Noricum', a steel from which coveted knives were made.Course instructor: Lukas J.
