Vacancy Management: Developing a New Event Program Based on Property Owners' Questions What to do with an empty residential building? This question was clearly addressed at the first orientation afternoon of the LEADER project "Vacancy Management Schmidatal-Manhartsberg": the concerns of property owners are diverse and the initial situations vary. The insights gained are now directly incorporated into the ongoing series of events. About 60 property owners and 15 experts gathered on July 26 at the Weingut Beyer in Roseldorf for the first orientation afternoon. Personal conversations showed that there is great interest in the future of vacant residential buildings – but at the same time, there is often a lack of guidance on which first step is the right one. Starting October 7, 2026, weekly free follow-up events on various topics will be held. Together with regional experts, a program has been developed that addresses common questions and offers practical support. After a specialist presentation, there will be an opportunity to discuss questions in a plenary session and personally with the respective experts to clarify initial steps. The goal is to provide orientation and jointly develop possible perspectives – without pushing property owners toward a specific decision. Participation is free and multiple events can be attended.
