Pleyel Museum Tour with Piano Accompaniment by Doris Kitzmantel and Wine Hiking with the Loess Guide
What's it about?
The afternoon begins with a high-quality tour of the Pleyel Museum. Doris Kitzmantel, Vice President of the International Pleyel Society, who studied piano and chamber music, tells guests about the life and work of the composer and piano maker Ignaz Joseph Pleyel, who was born here. During his lifetime, Pleyel was more popular and successful than Mozart, Haydn, or Chopin. Doris Kitzmantel accompanies this impressive museum tour on an original Pleyel piano. Afterwards, Loess Guide Fritz Genger, a trained cellar lane guide and local wine expert, picks up the guests and leads them to vineyards and loess gorges, to the most beautiful cellar in the village where visitors can expect a welcome schnapps and a small gift. During this wine hike, the Loess Guide tells exciting and interesting facts about the village, the Wagram and its wines, the cellar lanes, including earth cellars and mammoths. To conclude the varied afternoon, guests go to an expertly commented wine tasting. 5-6 Wagram quality wines will be tasted. Water and nut bread will be served with it. This small wine hike ends back at the starting point, at the parking lot of the Pleyel Kultur Zentrum. Total duration approx. 4 hours (2 PM - 6 PM). This tour takes place with a minimum of 10 people.
