Deep and Virtuosic Performance at Schloss Greillenstein
What's it about?
With a demanding program, violinist Yoko Saotome-Huber and pianist Robert Pobitschka will close the 2026 season of the 'Candlelight Concerts' series on October 10th in the Turkish Hall of the Renaissance Schloss Greillenstein. The castle has been a popular venue for the series since 2014. The two artists will perform both as a duo and solo. The program begins with Antonio Vivaldi's Violin Concerto in B major RV 583. Yoko Saotome-Huber will then present her interpretation of the famous 'Chaconne' for solo violin by Johann Sebastian Bach, a milestone in violin literature. This will be followed by 'Invocation' and 'Pater Noster' from Franz Liszt's large piano cycle 'Harmonies poétiques et religieuses' for solo piano. This cycle expresses Liszt's religious outlook and his enthusiasm for the Christian social teachings of Abbé Lamennais, a cultural figure in 19th-century France. The program concludes with the 'Arpeggione Sonata' by Franz Schubert, performed together by both artists. Yoko Saotome-Huber has been performing in the 'Candlelight Concerts' series since 2014. Her performance in 2017 at the parish church in Waidhofen as a soloist in Vivaldi's 'The Four Seasons', accompanied by an ensemble of the Vienna Philharmonic, was a resounding success! Since then, the Japanese violinist, who combines feeling and highest virtuosity in her playing, has become a familiar name among the series' visitors. Robert Pobitschka has appeared as a pianist at concerts both domestically and abroad. He is also the composer of numerous works. At the Carinthian Summer Music Festival, he played the solo part in the world premiere of his first piano concerto, and as a soloist with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, he premiered his second piano concerto. Candlelight illumination — the hallmark of the 'Candlelight Concerts' — and the enchanting atmosphere of Schloss Greillenstein ensure a very special mood.
