Special Tour: A Touch of Color and Lace

What's it about?

A devotional image for Christmas 1965 marked the beginning of the lifelong collecting passion of Erwin Leopold and Renate Sainitzer. Over nearly 60 years, they accumulated a collection of more than 300 art-historically significant devotional, cut-out, and lace images. In 2023, the family donated this art treasure to the Stift Altenburg. The exhibition focuses on thematic highlights such as pilgrimage, saints, the Holy Family, and biblical scenes, providing an immediate insight into late Baroque piety.
