What's it about?

On two weekends during Advent, the Rosenburg opens its gates to one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Lower Austria. This year again, the market offers readings by the fireplace, Christmas concerts, craftsmanship and tradition, as well as fine culinary delights. Craftsmanship and fine cuisine Waldviertler artists and artisans showcase their works and special skills in the atmospheric rooms of Schloss Rosenburg. Visitors have the unique opportunity to watch the artisans at work, for example, during woodturning demonstrations. Culinary huts with Christmas specialties, as well as our castle tavern and restaurant Schlossgasthof, ensure the visitors' well-being. Varied entertainment program The Hoch- and Deutschmeister bands create a festive atmosphere. Selected readings and concerts take place in the festively decorated meeting hall in front of the fireplace. For our young guests, there are pony rides and children’s crafts. The already traditional special demonstration of falconry again this year shows the 'Birds of Prey of the North'! This year, personalities will once again dedicate one day each to serve Punsch (mulled wine) for a good cause. The proceeds go to the aid organization 'Hilfe im eigenen Land'.
