What's it about?
KAMMERTÖNE (Chamber Sounds) KAMMERMUSIKTAGE LANGENLOIS: FRIDAY Matching the early winter evening, Vitus Eckert (baritone) and Manfred Schiebel (piano) will perform romances and ballads, including "Auf der Bruck" (Franz Schubert), "Ein Fräulein klagt im finstern Turm" (Franz Schubert), listen to the midnight feast of the servants of the Babylonian king ("Belsazar", Robert Schumann), and observe "Die nächtliche Heerschau" (Carl Loewe). Together with Marcus and Sebastian Schmidinger (horn) and Taner Türker (cello), they will present various songs and instrumental pieces in different ensemble configurations, such as Gaetano Donizetti's romance "L’amor funesto" for voice, horn, and piano, Beethoven's horn and piano sonata in F major, or Felix Mendelssohn's sonata for cello and piano No. 2 in D major. In keeping with the tradition of KAMMERTÖNE, they will also perform lesser-known works such as Othmar Schoeck's setting of Eichendorff's "Nachruf" or "Heimweh" by the Prussian-born J. W. Kalliwoda for voice, horn, and piano.
