Advent 8.12.26 - Hammerschmiede
What's it about?
The 500-year-old Hammerschmiede Pehn is still operated entirely with water power, making it the last of its kind. It is open on several dates in the fall, offering tours of the workshop, explanations, and insights into technology and history. There are blacksmith demonstrations, operation of an old (500-year-old) tail hammer and a 'new' (100-year-old) spring hammer, buffet service, jewelry stands, and more. For the 2026 season: introductory blacksmithing courses, weddings in the forge, and calls for volunteers and sponsors. For additional dates, see the website.
