Schneeberger & Bakanic Quartett
What's it about?
Two virtuosos fuse their creative forces: Gypsy jazz guitarist Diknu Schneeberger and stylistic all-rounder on accordion, Christian Bakanic. Firmly established in the international music scene, they are embarking on a new path together, characterized by technical excellence and musical inventiveness. Categorization: impossible! Schneeberger and Bakanic conjure up independent sound worlds in the interplay of swinging gypsy jazz, fiery Balkan groove, lyrical melodies and chamber music composition, brought to life by improvisational spontaneity. Their joint debut album is entitled "Avanti, avanti" - Italian for "Let's go, forward". It is synonymous with the determined collaboration of Schneeberger and Bakanic, supported by Martin Heinzle on double bass and Julian Wohlmuth on rhythm guitar. With their refreshing "Alpine Swing", the quartet enchants in a matter of seconds. In the compositions of the Viennese musicians, the interplay of catchy melody and virtuosity is in the foreground. A successful mixture of gypsy swing, Balkan jazz and new folk music lets the audience fly turbulently as well as gently through the evening and after the first few bars it becomes clear: This quartet understands like no other how to enchant both heart and ear at the same time.
