THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA The original production by Sasson/Sautter with Deborah Sasson and Uwe Kröger Music: Deborah Sasson / Text: Jochen Sautter / Musical Director and Arrangements: Ryan Martin The major touring production returns with a star-studded cast and a completely new musical arrangement. A true musical highlight! After the outstanding success of the 2022/23 tour, world star Deborah Sasson was once again convinced to take on the role of Christine. The collaboration between the singer and Germany's number one musical star, Uwe Kröger, who continues to play the Phantom, was celebrated by audiences and the press everywhere. Since 2010, "The Phantom of the Opera" by authors Deborah Sasson and Jochen Sautter has captivated audiences across Europe. The forced break due to the COVID-19 pandemic was creatively used to completely overhaul the production musically. British success musician Ryan Martin, who has composed and arranged music for Cirque du Soleil, America’s Got Talent, Netflix, BBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox USA, was brought on for this. The spectacular stage design features both the effectful, three-dimensional video projections by internationally acclaimed multimedia artist Daniel Stryjecki and the grand stage elements built by Michael Scott of the Metropolitan Opera in New York. This new staging, which originated for the 100th anniversary of Gaston Leroux’s 1910 novel "Le Fantôme de l'Opéra," is one of Europe's most successful touring musicals. The production distinguishes itself from all previous musical interpretations of the literary material by staying closer to the novel and incorporating well-known operatic quotes into parts of Sasson’s composed music. The role of Christine is performed by the world-famous Bostonian soprano and Echo Klassik award winner Deborah Sasson. Her versatile and powerful voice is perfect for this blend of opera and musical. The Phantom is played by Uwe Kröger, who captured the hearts of audiences since his breakthrough as Death in the world premiere of Elisabeth. He has played leading roles in premieres such as Rebecca, Mozart, The Visit of the Old Lady, Heidi, and in German-language premieres of Sunset Boulevard, Miss Saigon, Doctor Dolittle, The Addams Family, and Napoleon at London's West End. In this production, he takes on the role of the feared and internally torn Phantom. A large ensemble of selected singers, dancers, and actors from the German-speaking region also performs.
