A light path with St. Francis of Assisi We bring the light from the church to the cemetery Eight hundred years ago, Saint Francis of Assisi died. In his Canticle of the Sun, he praises Brother Sun and Sister Water, Wind and Fire, and our Mother Earth, which carries us, nourishes us, and bears fruits. After a summer with great heat, dryness, and drought, these ancient words gain new relevance: we have been made aware of how precious water, rain, and fertile earth are. Therefore, this year, the Canticle of the Sun by St. Francis of Assisi should accompany us especially on our way from the parish meadow to the cemetery. Children, teenagers, and adults are warmly invited to bring a lantern or a light.
