What's it about?
If you start a music project more than 30 years ago, name it after a mythical creature, and then sing in the native Lechtal dialect — it’s clear that 'language' has been a theme from the beginning. Occasionally, you could hear people ask, 'Why are they singing in Chinese?' when their songs played on the radio far from the Lechtal homeland. But live, everything was different from the start: because language artist Toni Knittel helped everyone 'get the point' during the banter between songs — and even extreme dialect play like 'Knoumahpatamadu' was understandable to all. It has now become known that these evenings, performed as a duo by the married couple Margit & Toni Knittel, guarantee a good laugh. Over 30 years, the theme of 'dialects, Denglisch (German-English mix), and other confusions' has been explored in many songs, which simply had to be pulled out of the mothbox. But it wouldn’t be BLUATSCHINK if new 'delicacies' weren’t also prepared in the Lechtal language play kitchen. The idea that thinking about topics like 'grammar,' 'Middle High German,' and 'Knittel High German' can unleash storms of laughter is hard to imagine — but Bluatschink proves it’s possible. Because if the banter between songs lasts longer than the song itself, then BLUATSCHINK is probably on stage. New songs and old hits — the 'Funka fliaga' (fun will fly)!
