Duo Pavlou – Fountos Much Harmoniousness in Autumn at the LEONARTer Seasons On September 26, 2026, at 7:00 PM, the Volkshaus St. Leonhard am Forst will host a special concert evening: masterworks for two pianos. Tickets are available online at www.kunstwerk.live/veranstaltungen and at Trafik Emsenhuber St. Leonhard, Trafik Mika Ruprechtshofen. The Duo Pavlou–Fountos, consisting of Cypriot pianist Christos Fountos and Greek pianist Ellada Angelina Pavlou, has been forming a close artistic partnership since 2015. Their repertoire spans works from classical and romantic periods to significant compositions of the 20th and 21st centuries for four hands and for two pianos. Ellada Angelina Pavlou is already known to us at the LEONARTer Seasons as an excellent concert pianist with her virtuosic playing. She received second prize at the Gubitosi International Piano Competition. Christos Fountos, who enchanted the audience of the LEONARTer Seasons with his performance at the “Greek Sounds” in May 2025, was in the spotlight of the music world in September 2025. He was one of the three finalists of the renowned Ferruccio Busoni Piano Competition and was awarded the Musikkammerpreis. In November 2025, they debuted for two pianos at the Ehrbar Hall in Vienna. The duo is characterized by a shared musical language, Mediterranean roots, as well as unity, spontaneity, and tonal warmth. The program includes: - W.A. Mozart Sonata for 2 Pianos in D major, K448 - B. Britten Mazurka Elegiaca for 2 pianos, op.23 no.2 - S. Rachmaninoff Suite No. 1, Op. 5 - D. Shostakovich Concertino in A minor for 2 pianos, op.94 Lukas Ixenmaier will guide us through the program with his usual competence and charm.
