Matching the winter and Christmas season, this concert is all about: snow! Can it be expressed musically? If so, what does it sound like and how does it feel? What does snow invite us to do – and what happens if it doesn't come? In a new edition of their popular scenic chamber music performances, the music educators of the Tonkünstler orchestra, together with orchestra musicians, explore snow in its various forms: when it falls, crunches, silences the world, or turns into ice. A playful game, not without risks, because where winter appears, dangers often lurk. Between familiar sounds by master Antonio Vivaldi and new tones from the composer Lucas Salaun, a musical winter landscape unfolds – embedded in a story that invites listening and discovery. For over 20 years, the Tonspiele – the music education program of the Tonkünstler Orchestra – has been building bridges between classical music and its young and young-at-heart audience.
