Background: Once upon a time on a beautiful weekday, seven children sang songs in the house of Caroline Vasicek-Pfeifer. Enthusiastic about the musical performance of the seven dwarfs, the Gablitz-based artist sat at the piano, composed new pieces, and adapted well-known Christmas songs for the young group. This was the birth of the program "Schneewittchen und die 7 Zwerge zu Weihnachten" (Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs at Christmas). New lyrics were created, and tried-and-true songs were given a child-friendly, modern version. The result is impressive. The dwarfs, who are between 7 and 11 years old, and their Snow White breathe new life into the fairy tale. In her first directorial work, Vasicek incorporates many experiences from her own career and work with children. "The children love the fairy tale and absorb the songs and texts, implement the ideas themselves, and only need a guiding hand. I am happy to be that hand," Vasicek says about her role as director. The harmony among all performers, the playfulness, and musicality of the children are clearly visible. Once again, a piece of culture familiar to children, known and appreciated by grandparents, has been passed on.
