What's it about?
Michael Jackson, Nik Kershaw, Chaka Khan, Prince, The Police, Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, Tears For Fears, Frankie Goes To Hollywood… The magnificent pop music of the 80s! It shaped an entire generation and remains groundbreaking to this day. With the advent of synthesizers, great songs with cult status were created. Horst Gössl and the Classic Quintet Vienna have made it their mission to pay tribute to this significant musical era in a very special way, and they do so excellently. They give contemporary compositions a wonderful acoustic-classical touch with vocals, acoustic guitar, violins, viola, cello, and double bass, making the originals shine in a new light. In this way, they set a counterpoint to the predominantly electronic sound of the time and highlight, in the truest sense, the excellent songwriting without losing respect for the original works in terms of high recognizability. A very special homage to the wonderful 80s with excellent singing and outstanding string arrangements.
