Combo Spectrum
What's it about?
From the original Bigband Purkersdorf, musicians came together and eventually formed a new ensemble – The Combo. The powerful Bigband sound was replaced by individualism and improvisation, demanding the full effort of each of these enthusiastic musicians. In this formation, the musicians have performed many beautiful gigs, including the awards ceremony of the international automotive industry, Jazz Festival at Melk Abbey, Sargfabrik, Im Tunnel Vienna, Vinothek Sandgrube 13, Jazz Brunch at Nikodemus, themed concerts at Museum Hietzing, private events, concerts at Stadtsaal, and many other performances in the region. Both as a quartet and as a nine-piece orchestra, they present a wide range of styles from the history of jazz, including blues, swing, rock, and Latin, drawing from the worlds of Duke Ellington, Joe Zawinul, Sonny Rollins, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, and other jazz greats.
