The Vienna Woods has always been a source of inspiration - for composers like Beethoven, Schubert or Strauss. Perhaps it was a bird's chirping that brought the artists to a melody. For writers like Grillparzer or Kafka, who may have come up with new stories while walking. And for painters like Waldmüller or Schiele, who found one or the other motif and new ideas here. Nothing has changed to this day: The Gugging artists have always felt at home here. And renowned contemporary painters like Arnulf Rainer also liked to be inspired by the Vienna Woods, and still are today. Why not discover your own creativity here too? A Vienna Woods Art tour offers a good opportunity for this: Equipped with paints, pens, pads and whatever else you need for drawing, you go into the forest together with an academic painter, wilderness mentor and mental trainer. No previous knowledge is necessary, only sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. A few playful exercises, a few helpful technical tips and the rest is simply letting go - of the forest, of what the senses perceive, of the joy of being creative. No matter what comes out of it: whether it would pass as a work of art in a gallery or end up hanging on the wall at home as a beautiful memory.
