Weihnachtsoratorium - Prince of Peace

What's it about?

The Wechselland Music and Art School presents the grand Christmas Oratorio "Prince of Peace". The project "Prince of Peace," directed by music school teacher Karin Rozaj, will fill the parish church of Kirchberg am Wechsel with full sound at 5 p.m. on December 18 and 19, 2026. Approximately 160 participants have been rehearsing regularly since February for the Christmas Oratorio, which tells the story of the birth of Jesus, as well as references to his further life and the path ahead of him. Karin Rozaj had the idea for this project over two years ago and immediately began preparations. She selected the pieces and texts and arranged them for the respective ensembles. The music ranges from demanding choir and orchestral pieces to lively popular music. The Wechselland Music and Art School is the organizer of this large project and sees itself as a networking and organizational platform. In addition to many teachers, active and former students, as well as friends and guests from the musical network around music teacher and choir director Karin Rozaj, are involved. The audience can experience live performances by 20 children's voices, 40 musicians, around 100 choir singers, and soloists. Thanks are due, among others, to the parish and elementary school of Kirchberg am Wechsel and Dr. Friedrich Zitz (E.L.T. Kunststofftechnik & Werkzeugbau company), without whose support the realization of this project would not be possible. The participants are already looking forward to the two performances and hope to bring light and hope into the hearts of the audience through this work.
