In the song and cabaret evening "Tod eines Pudels" (Death of a Poodle), classical music and comedy meet on stage in the form of star mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager, cult cabaret artist Alfred Dorfer, and celebrated pianist Florian Krumpöck. At first glance, the composers listed in the program, such as Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Mahler, and Korngold, promise a very "classical" evening - not at all! On this satirical ghost ride, the comedy in classical music is sought, especially the unintentional. With songs from across music history - not least, of course, Beethoven's titular "Elegy on the Death of a Poodle" - and bizarre anecdotes from artists' dressing rooms around the world, Kirchschlager, Dorfer, and Krumpöck most entertainingly and with subtle humor strip classical music of its pretentiousness.
