Der Nussknacker - Märchen
What's it about?
The successful team around Richard Maynau (director) as well as Eva Kronberger and Alexandra Kloiber (writers) invites you to a brand-new Christmas fairy tale again this year. With a modern interpretation of the classic "Der Nussknacker – Die Suche nach dem Weihnachtslicht" (The Nutcracker – The Search for the Christmas Light), they bring a fairy-tale adventure to the stage that touches heart and soul. On a magical Christmas night, young Klara receives a very special gift: a nutcracker. But while the lights on the tree shine, Klara feels a strange emptiness. What is the "true light" of Christmas that the mysterious Drosselmeyer speaks of? When the brave nutcracker comes to life and a clumsy Mouse King enters the scene, an adventurous journey begins, leading Klara to the glittering – but strangely cold – realm of the Sugar Fairy. Together with her companions, Klara must discover that some treasures cannot be locked in golden balls. In a world full of music, wit, and poetic moments, she searches for the answer to the question: where does the light shine the brightest when it gets dark outside? The cast includes Tanina Bees, Peter Josch, Alexandra Kloiber, Eva Reinold, and Angela Schneider. In about 60 minutes, they will take the audience into a world where courage and solidarity are more important than perfection. The play promises a theatrical experience for all generations – with lots of music, a touch of humor, and the timeless message that the greatest miracle is often hidden within ourselves.
