With the loving support of his mother and her best friend, Jamie discovers his strength—and encounters Hugo, a former drag star who becomes a mentor, showing him how to present himself to the world with pride and confidence. With humor, heart, and energetic pop songs, it celebrates individuality, diversity, and the power to stand up for oneself. It tells of the challenges of growing up—and of creating one's own stage despite all opposition. Inspired by the true story of teenager Jamie Campbell, who dreamed of attending his prom as a drag queen, the musical premiered in 2017 at the Sheffield Crucible Theatre and quickly became a sensation. In 2018, it celebrated its acclaimed West End debut in London, winning awards including Best New Musical at the WhatsOnStage Awards. Jamie's story went around the world—as a musical, as a message, and finally as a Netflix adaptation (2021). A piece that encourages courage, offers hope, and shows that it's perfectly okay to just be yourself. The performance of "EVERYBODY'S TALKING ABOUT JAMIE" is conducted under special agreement with Concord Theatricals GmbH, on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
