MASTERCLASSES FOR VOICE - SCHUBERTIADE Festival Concert The Franz Schubert Institute is delighted to once again welcome 28 young musicians from all over the world to Baden as participants in the international masterclass for Lied interpretation "Poetry and Performance of the German Lied". The masterclasses enjoy a great international reputation. The students work in Baden with various master teachers such as Michael Schade, Robert Holl, Birgit Steinberger, Wolfram Rieger, Helmut Deutsch, Julius Drake and many more. 5 weeks from July 6th to August 8th, 2026 are entirely dedicated to working on a special topic like Lied singing. Coaches working on the poems, the texts of the Lieder, form a very special focus, which is probably unique in its intensity. Therefore, there will also be a recitation evening with Gabriele Jacoby on July 7th at 7:00 PM in the Haus der Kunst. Here, one can experience hearing the poems spoken, which has a special significance. Concerts in the Haus der Kunst (July 15th and August 8th, each at 7:00 PM) and in Heiligenkreuz Abbey (July 19th and July 26th, each at 5:00 PM) offer the young artists the opportunity to present what they have learned to an audience. Baden remains true to its reputation as a mecca for Lied singing, which it has earned over many years. The students come here to experience something truly extraordinary.
