Cast Musical Director Victor Petrov Director Andreas Gergen Set & Video Petra Schnakenberg Florence Foster Jenkins Maya Hakvoort Cosmé McMoon (Pianist) Alexander Lutz Dorothy / Maria / Mrs. Verindah-Gedge Shlomit Butbul Description New York in the 1940s: High society marvels - and laughs. At the center is Florence Foster Jenkins, a wealthy lady with a big dream: She wants to become an opera singer. The fact that she lacks any musical talent does not interest her. Undeterred, she follows her heart, sings arias, organizes charity concerts, and records records - with a passion that is as touching as it is hilarious. Surrounded by loyal friends and her quirky pianist Cosmé McMoon, Florence lives in a world where enthusiasm and joy of life count more than perfection. Her unwavering belief in herself culminates in a legendary moment: At 76, she stands in the sold-out Carnegie Hall - and triumphs. Not through musical brilliance, but through the courage to be completely herself. GLORIOUS! is a delightful comedy about the true story of the woman who went down in music history as the "worst singer in the world" - and yet became an icon of joie de vivre. Peter Quilter tells this story with loving humor, subtle irony, and deep respect for a woman who dared the impossible. Since its premiere in 2005 at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, the play has thrilled audiences worldwide and was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy. In 2016, the story also conquered the big screen with Meryl Streep in the lead role. Florence Foster Jenkins' motto remains unforgotten: "People may say that I can't sing - but no one can say that I didn't sing." (Subject to change)
