Theater im Bunker - "Horrible Habsburger!" - Revival

What's it about?

Six hundred years of sex & crime & Kaiserschmarrn. Extravagant, unique station theatre with bizarre visual worlds staged by Stadttheater director Bruno Max in the Bunker, the former air-raid tunnel in Mödling. Due to its great success, the play from 2025 will be revived. From reigning document forgers, lesbian archduchesses, transvestite emperor brothers and chlorine-rich saints to noseless exhibitionists, aristocratic sex therapists, mentally limited dumpling lovers and alternative dropouts – the House of Habsburg has delivered more to history than Maria Theresia, Franzl and Sissi .... This year, the Mödling air-raid tunnel mutates into an annex of the Capuchin Crypt and opens the poison cabinet of the Austrian monarchy in an extremely entertaining way. Spectators again wander through the former air-raid tunnel in small groups and encounter actors, images, installations and scenes, from which a play is pieced together in the viewer's mind.Premiere: August 9; further dates until August 29; Thursdays to Saturdays; staggered start times from 6 PM to 8:45 PM.
