Special Exhibition: "Everyday Life Without Electricity"

What's it about?

Together with the Zinnfigurenwelt Katzelsdorf, the Mödling Museum is creating an exhibition with the popular Steiff animals. Who doesn't know them - these adorable plush toys? Many were found as companions for girls and boys in their nurseries. Rumour has it that these children never parted with their favourites, and so they also became collector's items for adults! The exhibits show how diverse the range of this traditional company is. Not only bears, dogs and forest animals were in the product range, but also spiders, frogs and snakes. A donation of several hundred Steiff animals and figures to the Zinnfigurenwelt Katzelsdorf now makes this extensive special exhibition possible. Let yourself be carried away into a world that can take you back to your childhood days! You might find a companion from earlier times in one of our display cases! Exhibition curator: Franz Rieder. The exhibition can be visited until 31 August 2026 during the museum's opening hours Mon - Thu 9 am to 1 pm, Sat 10 am to 2 pm and Sun & public holidays 2 pm to 6 pm.
