Urfröhlich – because being grumpy also doesn't make you happier. Reinhard Nowak has decided to be only urfröhlich (super happy) from now on. Why? Because he has realized that he has reached the last third of his life, whether he wants to or not – and he now wants to spend the remaining time not just grumpy on the stage of life. Because there's no point in being in a bad mood about everything and everyone – and because every failure tastes more joyful when you go through life smiling. Maybe his aging marriage will run more smoothly if he's urfröhlich. Maybe one can better tolerate the current shitty world situation if one watches the news urfröhlich. Maybe he even likes the red numbers on his bank account more if he reads the bank statement urfröhlich. Maybe he feels better when he looks urfröhlich at some of his body parts that are just hanging around. Maybe fat-free food simply tastes more delicious when he chews it urfröhlich. And maybe a colonoscopy is more fun if he's urfröhlich during it. Why being urfröhlich might be the right way into the last third of life. A cabaret program about the surprising realization that cheerfulness is sometimes the smarter choice.
