Simon Plötzeneder Quartett
What's it about?
The Upper Austrian jazz trumpeter Simon Plötzeneder dedicates his current album Vienna Vibes to his long-time residence Vienna. After his debut "145th & St. Nick’s," a personal homage to New York, he now focuses on the musical energy and diversity of the Austrian capital. His education took him from Linz and Vienna to the Manhattan School of Music in New York, where he worked with jazz greats such as Scott Wendholt, Joe Magnarelli, Phil Markowitz, and Dave Liebman. A special highlight was his collaboration with jazz legend Joe Zawinul. Internationally active, Plötzeneder has performed with Randy Brecker among others and participated in numerous renowned ensembles and big bands, including the NDR Bigband, the Richard Oesterreicher Big Band, and the Upper Austrian Jazz Orchestra. Doors and bar service from 6:00 PM (cold delicacies, wine, beer, ...). Admission is free, donations appreciated.
