The city is illuminated with festive lights, snow covers alleys and houses. Everything is quiet and peaceful. Until a sinister discovery is made at the Christmas market at Schönbrunn Palace: an employee of a small Christmas tree ornament stall is found dead in the snow, in front of her a smoking bowl with cold ashes. Who wanted to ensure that the woman would not experience Christmas Eve? Journalist Sarah Pauli, who is well-versed in superstitions and old rituals, begins to investigate. A lead takes her to the Waldviertel region and to an old murder case... The 17th case with Sarah Pauli will be published on September 16, 2026.
