LIKE ICE. Workshop with Judith Neunhäuserer July 25 – August 1, 2026Like Ice. Temperatures are rising, the eternal ice is melting. Islands will disappear and the people living on them will be forced to migrate. Not only is the planet overheating, but so is the political climate. It seems absurd that the heat that will destroy our ecosystem is caused by social coldness. The most vehement deniers of the climate catastrophe are also those who deport people with undisguised brutality, devastate entire regions, and destroy livelihoods. No Future!, the slogan of the punk generation, has been appropriated and commercialized by technofeudalists. Billionaires don't have to worry about a future that no longer exists.It will be the hottest summer since records began. That's why, for the proven format of the Weinviertler Fotowochen, we are inviting a workshop leader who literally comes from the cold: Judith Neunhäuserer has conducted artistic research in both the Antarctic and the Arctic, for example at the invitation of the Alfred Wegener Institute in Bremerhaven. Her artistic/scientific projects have been presented in numerous international exhibitions, symposia, and festivals. Together with the participants of the Fotowochen, she will develop and realize projects on site.
