CHARLES AZNAVOUR – Leben in Chansons

What's it about?

Title: "CHARLES AZNAVOUR – Leben in Chansons" Description: By and with Michaela Ehrenstein & Béla Fischer After acclaimed performances in which she interpreted the life story of Juliette Gréco through chansons, Michaela Ehrenstein is now exploring the life of another chanson legend: Charles Aznavour. Her new program, which premiered in November 2025 at the Freie Bühne Wieden, traces the extraordinary biography of this exceptional artist, who grew up as the son of Armenian immigrants in Paris, where he contributed to his family's livelihood with singing performances from a young age. He began writing chansons early on, met Edith Piaf, and toured with her through France and the USA, which marked his international breakthrough. He led an exciting life—fulfilling and rich in experiences and encounters, a life that took the artist around the world. Michaela Ehrenstein is accompanied on piano by Béla Fischer, who is also responsible for the arrangements.
