1st International Masterclass for Organ Improvisation - Grand Improvisation on a Small OrganFour days of intensive engagement with the art of improvisation, led by Roman Hauser, one of the most distinguished organ improvisers in the German-speaking world.Afternoons: free practice time for participants.This masterclass focuses on improvising on small and medium-sized organs. Many organists do not have access to a cathedral or concert organ in their daily lives, yet wonderful improvisations can be created especially on small organs. Roman Hauser will present improvisation models and techniques, dedicate himself to classical, modal, and modern musical language, and will work with the participants to develop a program that will be presented to the public on the Augusteum organ during the opening concert of the ORGELspiel Festival 2026.In this masterclass, Roman Hauser teaches improvisation to all interested parties of every level of training, explicitly also for beginners. Improvisation forms outside of the ecclesiastical and liturgical sphere will also be explicitly presented.Information and registration: verein@augusteum.atCosts: € 60,- passive / € 90,- active participation
