What's it about?

On Sunday, August 23rd, at 5:00 PM, listeners at the Austrian Geras Abbey will embark on a "Musical Pilgrimage through the Centers of Italian Baroque." The Hof-Musici ensemble, led by Ondřej Macek, will present so-called moral cantatas (Cantate Morali), which served the aristocracy in the 17th century as an "honorable diversion of the mind." Two sopranos, accompanied by a harpsichord, will also be joined by a baroque cello and an archlute.
