What's it about?

We want to look at what people need to age with dignity! Our region is changing: the average age is rising, and more than two-thirds of people now live in households with 1-2 persons. Challenges such as care, support, and loneliness are affecting more and more families in the 18 member communities of our LEADER region Waldviertler Wohlviertel. We want to develop solutions together! Therefore, we invite you to our citizen participation events. Bring your ideas, experiences, and perspectives to support dignified aging and to relieve caregivers! What is it about? · Community projects: care & support, relieving relatives, new forms of housing. · Strong networks: involving existing organizations and initiatives. · The association "Lichtblick": initiator of the pilot project in the town of Geras, "Dalleiner Hofzeit," a day center for older people. More than two-thirds of people live in households with 1-2 persons, and children often live farther away from their parents. Age-related issues include dementia as a challenge and loneliness. The goals Joint development of solutions for social challenges. Community projects in our villages and municipalities: care and support, relieving relatives, communal living arrangements with support and active social life. Involving existing actors: parish communities, senior associations, social organizations, younger generations, relatives, and all people or businesses willing to participate (vacant spaces, volunteer work). As a platform for implementation, the association "Lichtblick" was founded. Supported by the communities, it needs the support of everyone.
