Martin Metzger
What's it about?
Martin Metzger, visual artist, had his first exhibitions in 1985, initially with political caricatures — but soon after with portraits and figurative works. Gradually, he also explored other subject-related representations. Starting in 1987, he trained at the Vienna Art School (life drawing and anatomy). From 1988 to 1995, he was a regular student. In the early 1990s, he began creating custom frames for his artworks, as well as designing furniture, lamps, and exploring the concept of the total work of art, also realized in collaboration with his wife Birgit (designing table and bed linens and clothing). From 1999, he started working in theater....
