On Sunday, November 15, Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner will once again host the Kinderlandesfeiertag (Children's State Festival). Following the successful launch last year, this year's offerings will be expanded for the first time to include partner institutions in all four quarters of Lower Austria. After the great success last year, the Kinderlandesfeiertag will take place again this year. On Sunday, November 15, children are invited to discover Lower Austria in diverse and playful ways. As part of the Lower Austrian Leopold Festival, community is at the center: children can get to know their homeland, try new things, discover their own talents, and actively experience Lower Austria as their living space. "Children are the most valuable thing we have – and they are the future of our country. That’s why it’s important to me that they can discover and experience our homeland themselves. At the Kinderlandesfeiertag, they can try out, marvel, ask questions, and discover new things together. And above all, they should feel one thing: Lower Austria is their home, they belong here, and they can help shape their future here." Trusted partners involved again With the Museum Niederösterreich and the KinderKunstLabor for contemporary art, the two institutions that successfully launched the Kinderlandesfeiertag last year are participating again. Both facilities will offer special programs this year as well. At the Museum Niederösterreich, young visitors can look forward to a reading with the well-known children’s book author Thomas Brezina. At the KinderKunstLabor, there will be a joint conversation with Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner. The program is complemented by numerous creative and participatory stations. First-time program across all four quarters A major innovation this year is the involvement of partner institutions from all four quarters of Lower Austria. This makes the Kinderlandesfeiertag accessible across the entire country, beyond the location in St. Pölten. New participants include the NÖ Science Center, which offers workshops in numerous libraries and bookshops; the VISTA Science Experience Center & the Museum Gugging in Klosterneuburg; the MAMUZ Schloss Asparn/Zaya; the House of Digitalization in Tulln; and the House of Wilderness in Lunz am See. The participating institutions have put together a varied program. Readings, workshops, as well as creative, research, and participatory stations invite children to discover new things, try out their interests and talents, and learn about the cultural, scientific, and societal diversity of Lower Austria. "Lower Austria has a rich cultural and social diversity. The Kinderlandesfeiertag makes this diversity directly tangible for children and also creates space for encounters, creativity, and shared discovery," said Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner. Children as part of the community The Kinderlandesfeiertag aims to convey to children what makes Lower Austria special and which values shape community life in the region. Community, cohesion, and responsibility for one another are just as central as curiosity, creativity, and the joy of discovery.
