Ottakring Popmusik Geschichte - Stadtspaziergang
What's it about?
The walk through Vienna's 16th district traces the footsteps of legendary Austrian musicians such as Karl Ratzer, Peter Müller, The Moreaus, Hannes Patek, Electric Indigo, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Schönheitsfehler, and others. We visit, among other places, the birthplace of Austrian rock'n'roll and beat, the origin of Austrian hip hop, and many other exciting locations. In addition to interesting facts about these sites, participants will be provided with insider stories, funny anecdotes, song samples, photos, and records during the walk. The tour starts at Schuhmeierplatz and ends at Herbststraße 22. You can get an idea of previous walks at www.instagram.com/wienpopkultour. Tour guide info: Geri Hollerer is a passionate record collector, DJ, music nerd, former music editor at Radio FM4, certified city guide, and has been engaged with Austrian music history for years. Thanks to conversations with eyewitnesses, musicians, historians, and other music enthusiasts, he has collected many stories over the past year that he is eager to share with interested participants.
