Atrophy (USA) + Confess (Nor)
What's it about?
ATROPHY (USA) The Arizona Thrash Titans Return. Formed in 1986 under the initial moniker Heresy, Atrophy rapidly ascended the underground ranks. By 1987, their cult-classic six-track demo Chemical Dependency ignited the worldwide tape-trading circuit, catching the immediate attention of heavy metal titan Roadrunner Records. Side-by-side with legendary Bay Area contemporaries like Exodus, Testament, and Vio-lence, Atrophy engineered a punishing, high-precision sonic identity defined by breakneck speed, heavy grooves, and devastating gang-vocal hooks. CONFESS (Nor) Confess is a groove metal band originally from Tehran, Iran, now based in Oslo, Norway. The band has become a symbol of artistic freedom and resistance, blending aggressive music with deeply personal and political lyrics. Confess stands out not only for its powerful sound and lyrics but also for its story: creating art under censorship and overcoming persecution to continue performing internationally. The band’s music combines elements of groove metal, death, and nu metal.
