ROCKET MAN - The Elton John Biographical Show
What's it about?
On the occasion of Sir Elton John's 80th birthday on March 25, 2027, "ROCKET MAN - The Elton John Biographical Show" celebrates its world premiere and embarks on a major tour. The two-hour musical tribute "ROCKET MAN - The Elton John Biographical Show" by successful producer Oliver Forster (also known for "FALCO - The Musical," "That’s Life - The Sinatra Musical," and "Beat It! - The Success Show about the King of Pop") combines biographical drama with spectacular concert moments in an impressive way. "Vivid outfits, a distinctive voice, and above all his piano: hardly any artist has shaped pop history as much as Sir Elton John. For his 80th birthday, we bring his extraordinary life story and, above all, his musical legacy back to the stage. Live, colorful, emotional, and of course, the show is packed with the greatest hits of the inimitable singer, performed by a superb lead actor, a five-piece live band, and a top-class ensemble," says producer Oliver Forster. From the first steps of the shy Reginald Dwight at the piano to his dazzling world career as Elton John and finally to one of the biggest and most influential pop stars of all time. Iconic moments such as the legendary performance at the Troubadour, the joint appearance with John Lennon at Madison Square Garden, the legendary concerts at Dodger Stadium, and Live Aid are brought to life, along with the personal highs and lows behind the fame. The show features hits like "Rocket Man," "Your Song," "Tiny Dancer," "Bennie and the Jets," "Crocodile Rock," "Candle in the Wind," and "I’m Still Standing," performed live by a top-tier rock band. "Rocket Man" is more than just a tribute show — it is a deeply moving and captivating homage to one of the greatest icons in music history. Elaborate projections, authentic costumes, and an electrifying concert atmosphere bring Elton John’s world to life and combine into an extraordinary stage show. But behind the glitter, glamour, and worldwide hits is primarily the story of a person: a moving journey between self-creation and self-doubt, between fame, deep downfall, and the brave path back to life. A special place is reserved for the legendary musical partnership with Bernie Taupin, which produced numerous songs that continue to influence generations today. C.J. Marvin as Elton John. The internationally acclaimed musician and Elton John performer C.J. Marvin shines as Elton John in his flamboyant, colorful costumes and performs live at the piano himself. C.J. was personally invited to Elton’s concerts at the Teatro-Tenda Palatrussardi in Milan. While waiting with Elton and the band in the hotel lobby for the limousines, C.J. sat at the piano and began to play snippets of some of Elton’s songs. After hearing the spontaneous performance of young C.J. Marvin, Elton John remarked: "You are the best Elton I’ve ever heard!"
