"That girl gets down to the nitty gritty." Koko Taylor Danielle Nicole, singer, bassist, and songwriter from Kansas City, Missouri, has spent her life making music and inspiring fans both domestically and abroad. Nicole was initially influenced by her parents, who played in bands and were active in the Kansas City music scene. She recalls her father playing blues guitar and her mother singing with the group Little Eva and The Works, which was the trigger. Together with her two brothers Nick and Kris, she founded the "Heavy Blues" band Trampled Under Foot, which initially gained popularity in the Midwest and then caused a sensation worldwide for over 10 years. She has received much praise: Guitar World wrote, "Danielle Nicole has earned the respect and admiration of the entire American blues scene with her soulful, inventive playing and tireless work ethic." The Blues Music Magazine raved: "Nicole brings it, bakes it, and serves it piping hot on a silver soul-rock plate." The Kansas City Star explained: "Blues and soul singers often get better with age. Bettye LaVette is one of those artists who became more credible with increasing maturity. Danielle Nicole seems to be following in her footsteps."
