What's it about?
AFRO MODERN Amidou Koita & Jorossin bring a musical fireworks display to the stage. Their forward-looking sound combines West African rhythms with Afrobeat, reggae, blues, jazz, funk, and salsa grooves. A music that cares not about borders, but about movement, encounter, and shared euphoria. The focus is on the Burkinabé Amidou Koita, who lives in Vienna. His songs open doors to West African tradition and the rich Griot culture. He sings in Bwamou and Dioula and tells stories of family, community, and solidarity — stories carried by rhythm, warmth, and a deep sense of connection. Jorossin means future. And that is exactly what it’s about: passing on cultural roots, bringing influences together, and creating music that breathes tradition while looking forward. On stage, an international ensemble from three continents comes together: musicians from Burkina Faso, Austria, and Colombia weave their musical languages into a common pulse. Music for the whole world!
