Katie Henry
What's it about?
Her Blues Blast and IBMA-nominated 2018 debut album High Road, as well as her upcoming international breakthrough with Rufs 2022 Blues Caravan Revue, brought her widespread media attention, including praise from Henry Yates of Classic Rock, NME, and The Guardian, calling her "an outlier talent to watch." With Rufs second album On My Way, Katie took another step forward. Whether she's swinging her faithful Gibson SG, pounding the keys, or screaming a storm, these ten original songs, co-written with bassist and slide guitar maestro Antar Goodwin, make her an alchemist transforming the base metals of American roots into gemstones. Recorded in May 2021 at Brooklyn's Degraw Sound Studio, On My Way is her second very personal album, pouring her heart out. "Many of these songs are about letting go," she says. "And how frightening but ultimately freeing that can be."
