"Washington's Town" is the latest self-release from the RayVille Big Band. It was recorded live on January 24th of this year at "Die Bühne" in Purkersdorf. Against a backdrop of growing fear and ignorance in the United States, "Washington's Town" is a poignant appeal to all those who uphold equality, justice, knowledge, and freedom. Since 2015, the 18-member RayVille Big Band has thrilled Viennese audiences at Casanova, ORF Radio Kulturhaus, Die Bühne, Reigen, Porgy & Bess, and Metropol with authentic, powerful tributes to the legendary Ray Charles. Ray Charles' influence on pop music is audible on countless records by artists from the early decades of blues, jazz, R&B, and soul. RayVille also expands its steadily growing catalog of refreshing, authentic big band tracks – including many original compositions by Joey Green and trombonist and bandleader Alex Lag. Look forward to timeless classics by the aforementioned artists, interpreted by some of the most talented. From his beginnings to his collaboration with the Count Basie Orchestra, Ray Charles' influence on pop music is audible on countless records by artists from the early decades of blues, jazz, R&B, and soul.
