What's it about?

ON THE EDGE - festival for experimental circus arts brings extraordinary forms of contemporary circus to Vienna from 4.-13.11.2026 - to Theater am Werk in Kabelwerk, Petersplatz and Dschungel Wien. Artists from Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Portugal and Estonia show circus beyond classical forms - between dance, concert, installation and performance. Whether hypnotic dance acrobatics in Cécile, Dadaist object art in oi+io, queer storytelling in (le/the) Pain or poetic nonsense in GUGUS!: ON THE EDGE combines personal stories with themes such as gender, parenthood, solidarity and nonconformity. The festival is complemented by workshops and the international "take care" conference on mental health in the arts and circus sector. Brave, experimental and surprising.
