Viktor Frankl und der Tod

Saturday 12 December · 11:30Viktor Frankl Museum · wien

What's it about?

A one-hour focused tour at the world’s first VIKTOR FRANKL MUSEUM on a 'burning' topic: Does the power of death destroy everything? Is the looming shadow of the approaching hour of death, which constantly hovers over us, a reason to panic? What thoughts did Viktor E. Frankl deepen in the shadow of gas chambers and the constant presence of death and mortality? How did he argue in old age and incorporate his insights into his logotherapy and existential analysis? What does he mean by the statement that death is actually the motor of life? "Behind every fear of death lies the concern of not having realized something meaningful, because everything that is realized is immortalized." (Viktor E. Frankl) In this special tour, human finiteness is thought through to the end and presented with Frankl’s insights, "using the parable of the barn" from pastoral care.
