What's it about?

SCREAM was founded around 1980 in Bailey's Crossroads/Virginia, a "census-designated place" near Washington D.C., where the founding members still active in the band today, brothers Pete (vocals, guitar) and Franz Stahl (guitar), as well as bassist Skeeter Thompson, checked out the punk and hardcore scene, connected with it, and subsequently helped define it. From their stunning debut "Still Screaming" (1982, Dischord Records) to "D.C. Special" (2023), they released seven confidently high-class albums. SCREAM are so much more "than the band where Dave Grohl played before Nirvana"; their hardcore punk is highly musical, has attitude and soul in abundance, SCREAM rock without ever being rockist.
