What's it about?
Improvisational theater at the highest level – entertainment can't get any more spontaneous than this! This is SPORT VOR ORT, Vienna's most legendary improv comedy show. Two teams of Austria's best improv players compete in a tough competition for the audience's favor. Lightning-fast and with sharp wit, characters are spontaneously created and staged, stories are improvised, punchlines are invented, and unique moments of emotion and laughter are created. The repertoire ranges from short sketches to complex storytelling, from heartbreaking love songs to grand musicals. The audience votes for the team that improvised better, faster, funnier, and thus crowns the winners of the evening. Exactly eighteen years after its premiere, the successful format SPORT VOR ORT has arrived at STADTSAAL! Since 2007, the show has been continuously on the monthly schedule at TAG – Theater an der Gumpendorfer Straße and was almost always sold out. On March 30, 2025, the last edition of SPORT VOR ORT will take place at TAG, to celebrate its completely revamped rebirth as the city's most legendary improv comedy show on May 18, 2025, at STADTSAAL.
