Blind Symphony - An Chamber Music Experience in Total Darkness

Blind Symphony - An Chamber Music Experience in Total Darkness

Thursday 12 November · 18:00Ehrbar Saal · wien

What's it about?

A chamber music experience in complete darkness. After great successes in Europe and the United States, the Blind Symphony project is now coming to Austria for the first time. In this extraordinary concert format, visual perception is completely eliminated. Before the performance begins, each guest receives a special light-proof eye mask, while the hall is shrouded in total darkness. Once sight is removed, all attention naturally focuses on the sound. Finest musical nuances, delicate vibrations, and inner rhythms become more intense and perceptible. Even familiar works reveal a new, deeper, and more powerful dimension under these extraordinary conditions. The music is performed by a chamber ensemble and enriched with rare instruments from smaller cultural regions around the world. During the concert, you will experience more than 70 different sounds and timbres – many possibly for the first time. The program includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Arvo Pärt, Philip Glass, Max Richter, and Ludovico Einaudi. Blind Symphony is much more than a concert. It is an invitation to experience music in its full depth – free from visual distractions. When the light disappears, the music becomes the only reality.
