Birthday of Bosnia The Society of Bosnian Academics in Austria cordially invites you to the festive event on the occasion of Bosnia's 837th birthday. August 29, 1189, the date of the signing of the Povelja Kulina Bana, is considered a significant historical symbol of Bosnian statehood. This document is one of the oldest written testimonies of a South Slavic ruler and points to the historical continuity of Bosnia. The event focuses on the history, culture, and identity of Bosnia, as well as the importance of preserving them for present and future generations. The evening offers space for encounter, exchange, and joint celebration in a dignified setting. As part of the celebrations, the "GBAA–BADA Student Award 2026", the "Scientist 2026" award in the field of natural sciences, and the annual "Artist of the Year 2026" award will also be presented. This honors students, young scientists, and artists of Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin for outstanding achievements.
